Brief Company History

In 1976, Keith Ellett developed a small, simple, clean and quiet lift that was affordable to the domestic owner. Keith commenced trading in 1978 as Elite Elevators and eventually sold Elite to an employee, Maurice Chizmar.

In February 1986, Geoff Ellett purchased the business and renamed it Access Elevators and fervently applied himself to the areas of service, manufacture and product development.

A change of attitude by building industry authorities along with Geoff's technical and regulatory submissions coupled with the clean safety record of the Elite/Access Elevators system brought about the acceptance of the Magic Carpet® platform lift system. This has benefited our customers who can now install an approved lift that is thousands of dollars cheaper than what was previously available.
